Communications Specialist
Scope of Position:
Support the execution of Lifeshape’s communication efforts through the creation of written, video and graphic content across multiple storytelling platforms, as well as by assisting with the development of major events, promotional materials, presentations, branding, and other creative projects. This role helps advance the mission and purpose of Lifeshape through supporting clear, compelling, and aligned communication.
Reports to: Sr. Manager of Communications
Job Responsibilities:
1.Create and publish written, video and graphic content to engage audiences in Lifeshape’s mission of strengthening ministries that alleviate risks to children and reach the nations with the gospel.(20%)
2. Execute production of Lifeshape’s e-newsletter including content requests and calendaring, writing, copy editing, securing and selecting photo/video assets, audience management and analytics.(20%)
3. Support major organizational events such as Life and NEXT, including invitation and registration processes, event programming, on-site support, and post-event follow-up.(20%)
4. Develop marketing materials including presentations, promotional collateral, impact reports and other assets.(15%)
5. Assist with maintaining Lifeshape’s storytelling platforms including updating written, photo, video, and graphic content across websites, interactive kiosks and branded physical displays.(10%)
6. Assist with gathering, organizing and managing photo, video and graphic asset libraries.(5%)
7. Coordinate external vendors (freelance creatives, ad agencies, printers, etc.) as directed by the Sr. Manager of Communications.(5%)
8. Provide administrative support for communications initiatives, including timelines, task tracking, and meeting preparation.(5%)
Requirements:
1.An evangelical believer committed to Christian service consistent with the organization’s purpose and beliefs, actively involved in a church and living out his/her faith on a daily basis.
2. Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, film/video, graphic design, marketing or a related field (or equivalent experience).
3. 1–3 years of experience in communications, video production, graphic design, media, marketing or a related field.
4. Required experience with Adobe Creative Suite including at least two of the following:
Premiere, After Effects, Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop and Lightroom. Preferred experience with all applications.
5.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
6. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt tone and style for different audiences.
7. Demonstrated organizational and project coordination skills, with attention to detail and follow-through.
8. Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
9. Comfortable receiving direction, feedback, and coaching, with a desire to learn and grow in communications strategy and execution.
10. Professional demeanor with the ability to interact effectively with internal teams, external partners, and vendors.
11. Ability to work independently when needed while remaining a strong team contributor.
Preferred:
1. Experience with video production (including pre-production, shooting, lighting, editing) or graphic design (including print publication, web and digital design, event design, illustration/infographics) is strongly preferred.
2. Experience with Salesforce, MailChimp and project management software (Asana, Monday, etc.) is preferred.
3.Experience with print production and coordination with print vendors is a plus.
4. Familiarity with AP Style is a plus.
